Whiskey town has been on fire. This lake has been kicking out limits daily.
I keep expecting a change and I’m sure its coming but it has not happened yet.
I think this is quite possibly the best year I have seen on Whiskey Town Lake.
As we approach the end of summer we can expect to see a physical change in the fish as they prepare to make their way up the creeks to spawn. That being said their size and aggression will increase. And we should have continued, quality fishing for the next 2 months on Whiskey Town Lake.
- Vance Dodgers with orange or pink.
- Mack’s or Vance hoochies with 8-9 inch leaders.
- Wonder bread patterns from Paulina Peak paired with their Pro Series Dodgers have been keeping the fish on the bite.
If your running 4 downriggers or stacking run the Vance Dodgers above the Pualina Peak, Pro series Dodgers from Paulina Peak are heavy and will tangle with your other gear. Trolling speed has been 1.4-1.6 and my depth has been 38-50 all summer.
Like so meany days a few guys catch most of the fish while the others struggle. Take note of the details when Kokanee fishing. Use what you are confident in and keep your lines in the water. Avoid tangles or unnecessary time out of the water. To maximize your time fishing always fish as many lines as you can handle. Don’t be afraid to stack your downriggers or use multiple. The wider your spread, the more water you cover, the more fish you will catch. Good luck out there guys see you at whiskey town lake!
