All though we are having a great salmon run this year over all, the fish enter the river in waves causing strong weeks of fishing and slow weeks.
We have seen the last of our summer run salmon for the year and are now waiting on our fall fish to arrive. With large numbers of fish in the Klamath River we are soon to see them heading our way.
I have been sticking to the basics. Back bouncing roe and bobber fishing have been my go to tactics for putting kings in the net.
Steelhead are on their way!
We are just starting to see the spear head of the autumn run. I expect great times ahead. The Trinity River never disappoints starting today and going all the way through March of 2020.
Stay tuned for more detail in future reports on the Trinity. September is sort of a time of transition on this river. If getting into steelhead wearing shorts and sandals sound appealing, fish the Trinity in September.
