The fishing has been good on the Trinity River!
The rain has arrived on the Trinity River in N. California! With more water coming down the river things are looking good. Steelhead have moved upriver into the Junction City, Douglas City and Lewiston areas of the Trinity River.
1-5 steelhead a day has been what we have been experiencing witch is a major improvement from the past month of slow fishing where we weren’t finding any fish.
With rain, not only do the steelhead show up, but so do anglers! We won’t have the river to ourselves, but it’s not exactly bumper boats out there on the water either.
We are finding pockets of fish were others are not. Bait and pegged beads have been hot as well as stone flys and my ever faithful birds nest.
Expect to share the river with friends
Let’s not forget that all though things have picked up its almost impossible to predict what day will be the best day to find steelhead. Conditions change a little every-single day and steelhead are not residing in any given section. Steelhead move upstream every day conditions allow.
Book a date and come fishing for Steelhead on the Trinity River! This is really the best way to find the fish of your dreams!
